Download and Install Scroll Rack
Scroll Rack is a
Java
application. You will need a Java Runtime Environment
(1.4 compatable or better).
It uses two external (open source) libraries:
SWT
for graphics.
Smack
for Jabber support.
Windows
Go to the
Scroll Rack Files
page. Download the newest version of scrollrack-win-version.zip.
Unpack it in C:\Program Files.
This installs scrollrack.exe, SWT, and Smack into
C:\Program Files\ScrollRack.
It does not install any shortcuts, menu items, or registry entries.
To run Scroll Rack, run C:\Program Files\ScrollRack\scrollrack.exe.
Linux (RPM based)
Modern Linux distributions come with a Java Runtime Environment and SWT.
I was unable to find a Smack RPM package, so I created one.
Download it from
here
and install it.
Go to the
Scroll Rack Files
page. Download the newest version of scrollrack-version.rpm
and install it.
To run Scroll Rack, run /usr/bin/scrollrack.
Note: I've been unable to get Jabber to work with the Gnu JRE. You
may need to download and use the Sun JRE to use Jabber.
Source
You can get the Scroll Rack source from the
Scroll Rack Files page.
